The buildup was compelling: a new and more effective ethos for productivity. Unfortunately, except for some novel labeling and a slight rehash of familiar time management concepts, there is very little practical information. I found that much of the content was not presented coherently. I made it thru about 75% of the book and I'll try to finish the rest at a later date. This is not a personal put down, but I think the authors could do better for their readers. Keep moving, nothing to see here.
Doing to Done: Productivity Made Simple
The thing I love about Doing to Done is it helps me relax and reset. It takes the stress, the anxiety, the overwhelmingness of everything going on around me and helps me focus on myself, what I need to get done, and feel productive!
When it comes to getting tasks complete, simplicity is the key. And I think you just need a few helpful tips here and there to get organized and get things moving. This book is fantastic for anyone stuck in a rut and wanting to get some momentum going in taking action. The notion of putting things into "beats" and then taking action on them, keeps the focus on the what is actionable here and now, and then by building on that you can complete incredible things over time.
I've spoken with Mike as well and he is truly a stand up guy, willing and able to help and it was through his help that I was able to complete the biggest project I've ever tackled.
When I received "Doing to Done", I was instantly captivated by its unique approach compare to other leadership books I had read.
What set this book apart was its engaging visual format. The images added a refreshing and relatable element to the book's content. The artist, Kristine Yan, did a phenomenal job in bringing the concepts to life through her illustrations.
As I delved deeper into the book, I found myself drawn to its simple yet effective framework. At a time when I was juggling unemployment, managing interviews, updating my resume, and trying to prioritize my tasks without feeling overwhelmed, "Doing to Done" provided me with a clear and concise roadmap.
The book now sits proudly on my shelf, right next to my desk, serving as a tangible reminder of the clarity and guidance it offered me during a pivotal point in my life. "
